Why You Should Trust Lux Points Life Rankings
I love exploring the most breathtaking destinations worldwide and searching for the ultimate hotel experience. In this Top 10 review, we will unveil the best hotels across the globe.
One reason I create numerous Top 10 lists around the world is due to the prevalence of sponsored content I see in hotel rankings by major media outlets and blogs. These rankings often involve paid promotions for hotels, leading to bias. To counter this trend, I took it upon myself to curate my own authentic best hotel lists.
My goal has consistently been to offer unbiased content and information worldwide. I’ve felt disheartened by the prevalence of sponsored content and misleading rankings online. It’s frustrating to have spent money on hotels based on others’ sponsored reviews only to find them less luxurious than expected.
A few reasons why you should trust Lux Points Life’s rankings are as follows:
– I pay for all of my hotel stays with my own money.
– I do not get paid by any hotel to promote them or put them on this list.
– I have stayed in many ultra luxury hotels around the world over the years so I am using my first hand experience to rank these hotels based on my visits.
– I am an extremely analytical person who has done the following in life: High school valedocutorian, 4.6 GPA, graduated from USC with a degree in Biology, started multiple companies in the finances & real estate space.
My Methodology
My methodology for selection of the best hotels in the world is to include the following descriptions emphasis in my ranking, those that fit the criteria below will rank the highest:
– Most luxury per dollar spent
– Most visually stunning & architecturally magnificent
– Privacy & seclusion the hotel offers
– Nicest hotel of that region
– Preference to private islands, safaris, nature hotels over busy city hotels
– Hotel views, rooms, and grounds of the property
– Uniqueness of the property
Note: All rates are in USD and are excluding taxes & transfer.
Even if you don’t fully agree with my list, I aim to offer you a starting point to discover some of the finest properties worldwide. If you have a different ranking or if I missed including a property you adore, please share your thoughts in the comments below. Thank you for reading!

8. Amanyara
- Country: Turks & Caicos

Amanyara is another one of my favorite Aman properties, which I have visited plenty over the years due to its breathtaking location. The remarkable architecture, the captivating main pool area, and the serene private beach with its stunning blue hue combine to make it a top-notch property worldwide. One notable aspect of the Amanyara hotel is the opportunity to secure a reasonably good room rate when you visit. During my last stay at Amanyara, we were pleasantly surprised to have Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy from Succession) as our neighbor in the adjacent room.
7. Fregate Island
- Country: Seychelles
- Price From: $5,000 / night
Fregate Island is one of the greatest luxury island escapes in the world with its incredible villas built into the cliffside providing stunning views. The island is only second to the North Island Seychelles hotel for the title of the best properties in the Seychelles.
6. Mombo Camp
- Country: Botswana
- Price From: $6,000 / night
Mombo is one of the best Safari experiences in Africa, just second to Singita Sasakwa. Having an pristine location on a private island in the Okavango Delta, the game and location of this lodge mixed with its ultra privacy are just some of the best features that give Mombo its charm. On our stay here, we had 500 buffalo around the lodge at any given moment, saw three leopards in one day, encountered 50 giraffes, and witnessed 12 lions drinking water.
5. Amangiri & Camp Sarika
- Country: Utah, USA
- Price From: $3,000 / night
Amangiri stands out as one of the top Aman hotels globally, a place I’ve frequented many times over the years and cherished each visit. In fact, I proposed to my wife at Amangiri in the Girijala suite, that’s how special it is to me. The property’s architecture is truly remarkable, seamlessly blending with the surrounding landscape, giving the hotel a unique charm.
4. The Brando
- Country: French Polynesia
- Price From: $3,200 / night
The Brando offers an incredible island retreat and was actually the initial destination on my wife and my honeymoon trip around the world. One of the highlights of the island was the stunning beach, where you could walk nearly half a mile into the water at knee level. Another fun activity was kayaking to the nearby private islands, providing a thrilling castaway-like adventure.
3. Laucala Island
- Country: Fiji

Laucala Island in Fiji provides a remarkable island escape that is one of the best in the world. The grounds of this island are vast, providing hiking, beach activities, and incredible service. A stay here is truly an amazing getaway. The one con I have with this island is the considerably high transfer fee from the main island of Fiji, which happens to be one of the most expensive transfer fees I have encountered at any hotel worldwide.
2. Singita Sasakwa
- Country: Tanzania
- Price From: $4,000/ night
Singita Sasakwa offers the ultimate safari adventure in Africa. Situated atop a high hill overlooking the private Grumeti Reserve, home to one of the largest animal populations in Africa.
